My film opeing has used and even challenged forms and conventsions of real films by many ways. One of the ways was to simply introduce the film. By using voice overs; which was significant to help the audience understand what the situation was, setting the scene and helping to introduce the main character. Many films of all sorts of genres have used this convenstion to help introduce the film.
We have tried to represent social groups, paticualy the vulnerability of young, alone teenager girls. We represented this by having slow, yet sweet music showing innocense. The girl was also alone which makes her vulnerable. To emphasise this, we edited in the voice over, plus slowed down the motion of the footage.
We have used a film genre that can be used in many countries, mainly in the Uk though, this is because from doing internet research, the country are very aware of what unfortunate events happen out there. Infact we have based it upon a true story, of Madalin Mcann.
Due to the events that could happen later in the film, we have chosen for the film to be a 15. This is because it can not just have unsuitable scenes for younger people, but also give a message to the age target that the events happen to, To help with this, we have set the main character aroung the same age.
Since the beginning of the project and working on the Premilinary task, I feel that I have progressed a lot and know what to expect if I was to do a task like this again. More lessons have been learnt from the mistakes myself and my group members have made, this would make the next task of/if we ever make a film opening again, much easier.
